Not all USB Flash drives supported in Vista

You would have thought that by now all simple USB flash drives would be instantly recognised and supported by Vista.

Not so!

I have recently used USB drives from Cruzer, Emtec and Buffalo. The Cruzer and Emtec drives are fine.

However Vista does not accept the Buffalo RUF2-E 1 Gig drive. Vista tries to find a suitable driver from Windows Update – but without success. The Buffalo web site lists several USB drives – but not this particular drive.
